Wandering Through Venice

Good morning, Venice! Let's have a wander through the alleys and canals. We'll meet in the afternoon for a drink!

I would love to make this a post about fashion history, but architectural eye candy will have to do.  Enjoy!

Fun fact about the "Spritz," a cocktail that Venice and Northen Italy is famous for. It dates back to the 1800's, when the Hapsburgs were in Venice. The Italian wines were strong and unfamiliar, so a bit of water was added. In the early 1900's, with carbonated water available, that was substituted for still water. The cocktail was originally wine with the water. Now it's popular to switch the wine for Campari or Aperol, and sometimes to add Prosecco.

Good night, Venice!
